The 2007 vehicle was officially launched on October 29th 2007.

The University of Adelaide 2007 Formula-SAE Vehicle

At competition the 2007 vehicle showed great potential, however a leak in the fuel tank hindered the overall performance of the vehicle. Due to the leak the 2007 vehicle could not compete in acceleration, skidpan or autocross, after which the decision was made to remove the fuel tank and modify the design with a new rubber gasket. The 2007 vehicle managed to get out for both endurance heats, which represents 2/5ths of the total points available for the competition. Consistent times were achieved in the first heat, however ignition problems resulted in a DNF in the second heat.
Although the 2007 Vehicle only competed in 1/4 events they still managed to come 10th out of 23 competitors.
The results for each event are as follows.
Design : 5th place
Endurance : 5th Place
Cost : 7th Place
Presentation : 14th Place
Autocross : DNS (did not start)
Acceleration : DNS
Skid pan : DNS

2007 Formula-SAE Vehicle at Collingrove SA Hill Climb

The 2007 Vehicle also successfully completed a hill climb at Collingrove SA, hosted by the Sporting Car Club of South Australia. The best time achieved by the driver, Asher Johnston, in the 2007 FSAE Vehicle was 34.39 seconds, which was one of the fastest times to date in the respective class (Formula Libre <1300cc). Not only was the 2007 FSAE Vehicle fast in its own class, but the car was one of the fastest out there on the day, with only a few other cars able to post comparable times (including the likes of a Porsche GT2, Customs and Evo Lancers).
